Work in progress

I am doing this 20x24 oil on canvas. A woman working in a paddy field. Any cultivation is a time bound process. Women( and men) work on it rain or shine. Everytime we eat good food it is time to remember how much effort has gone in making it and how many people were involved in getting it to our plates. Thanks.

This reminds me of a song back home in the Philippines. It goes: "Planting rice is not fun, bent from morn till the set of sun..." And, yes, they work rain or shine; from morning till dusk.

Good painting, good reminder.

It's coming along beautifully! I have read similar thoughts in a book recently. It's very wise to consider how many hands are involved in the preparation or completion of so many things in our daily lives. We have many people, and animals, to be grateful for.

Beautiful painting. I agree. We take our food for granted so often.
